Differentiation Strategy

Your differentiation strategy is an integrated set of action designed to produce or deliver goods or services that customers perceive as being different in ways that are important to them. It calls for you to sell non standardized products to customers with unique needs.
Create differentiation within your own products or services. Common examples of differentiation for products may be based on size, speed, color, components, combinations or accessories. Common examples of differentiation for services include speed, performance, quality, responsiveness, availability, ease or integration. If you are in the unique position of having only one product or service to offer potential customers then you should consider accessories, partners or other options to create a variety of levels from the perspective of your future customers.

my opinion:
Differentiation is most important tool for the success of a product. The concept of being unique is far more important today than it was few years ago. Normally some years ago very few Pakistani customers look for the attributes like uniqueness and quality etc but now day’s customers look more for such attributes and differences in products and services. One of the reasons behind this is due to the increase in competitors of a product; companies are now trying their best to attract more and more customers to increase their market share by differentiating their product from competitors. So I think one of an important key to successful marketing and competing is differentiation.
