Marketing by the Government

Nowadays, many governments around the world are facing budget deficits and in order to reduce those deficits, most of those governments have resorted to an increase in taxation. However, increase in taxes is not an easy option for any government. So, what can a government do? Well, marketing can help that government. In Spain, the government researched the wants and demands of the people of the country and provided such a product which satisfied not only their demand but it also enabled the government to increase its revenue. The product is lottery tickets. The government differentiates and positions the product in such a way that most of the spaniards purchase the tickets which also benefits the government.
