Businesses and Political Environment

We all know that the environments of businesses affect them in many different ways. In marketing, there is the micro-environment and the macro-environment. In the macro-environment, political factors can affect a business profoundly. An extremely good example is the extra runway which was to be built at the Heathrow airport. This airport will lead to less congestion at the airport and it will also increase the number of flights from the airport. However, the party in the opposition has rejected the move because it says that it will lead to an increase in noise and air pollution. The issue is still being debated by the government and the opposition. Whatever the decision will be it will affect the airline companies. So, guys check out this debate for and against the move and do give feedback.

Political environment is a part of company's macroenvironment and plays significant role in policy making. political environment has pressure groups as well as you pointed out and companies need to keep an eye on them as well.
