Levels of product and service

A product and service has three levels. Each one is discussed below:

  • Core benefits
  • Actual product
  • Augmented product

1. Core benefits:

"What is the buyer really buying?"

So what is Mercedes core benefit? It is the source of transportation.

2. Actual product

Features, quality (very high quality), design and brand name (Mercedes) these things come under the level of actual product.

3. Augmented product:

It is built around core benefit and actual product by offering customer services and benefits. At this level Mercedes provides after sale services etc
